Many of you have asked when and under what conditions the Association will re-open the play structures, the pools, the gym and the Clubhouse. Once the State of California, San Diego County, and the City of Carlsbad authorize reopening of these facilities, the final decision lies with the Board of Directors who must weigh our desire to re-open with the legal and financial risk to the Association itself. We have to ask: Can we? Should we? and How?

Our first priority is the safety of our users, our staff and our vendors.

Our second priority is the financial and legal liability risk to the Association.

In addition to following available CDC guidance, when the County and the City allow us to reopen we are required to provide a written plan for re-opening.  We are working on our plan now, and anticipate they will require us to enforce social distancing, expand professional cleaning protocols, and reduce capacity of the facilities.

The board intends to reopen facilities as soon as safe and practical, while prioritizing the safety of HOA members, staff and vendors, taking into account potential financial/legal impacts to the community, and maintaining compliance with CDC, County and City rules.  We will keep you advised as the plans come together.  We are happy to have any community input by email to csurette@keystonepacific.com.
